By day, I work as a Journeyman Commercial Plumber, navigating the technical world of infrastructure. But in 2023, during a challenging chapter of my life, a single sunny afternoon at the "Ain't Necessarily Dead" festival in Auburn changed everything. Surrounded by vibrant colors and the infectious energy of the crowd, I felt a pull toward a new kind of rhythm. I stepped out of my comfort zone and dove headfirst into the art of tie-dye.
The Craft
The journey wasn’t always bright colors and perfect patterns. It started with under-saturated dyes, long nights of patience, and the disciplined "wait" of the batching process. With the unwavering support of my wife, Cori, and the encouragement of friends and family who saw the potential in my early work, Third Eye Dyes was born.
My inspiration flows from everywhere—the steady flow of a workday, the deep grooves of my favorite music (from the Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd to the modern vibes of Stick Figure and Indubious), and a constant drive to see what’s possible with a bit of dye and a lot of intention.
The Mission
Third Eye Dyes is a one-man operation built on the belief that art should make you smile. My goal is to eventually transition from the job site to the studio full-time, sharing my unique style with a wider audience.
